What is the process in NY state to obtain all of my rights as a renter of a home? My home has severs water damage. It is a beautiful home with a current water problem in the cellar. We have had to replace 4 sump pumps and an increasingly high electric bill due to this matter. The house smells horrible, like an old, moldy cellar. The staircase and the front entryway wood and treads completely rotted out, we have recently replaces all of this on our own. The landlord is very aware of these issues and my concerns...she has known for 2 years, yet nothing is being done. Can I legally demand water and or mold testing because it was shown to her that it was growing on the baseboards in the hallway? There are more problems as well that she is aware of, what can I do about all of this and where can I turn to, it is now a health and safety issue for my family. |

Sense it is her home and your renting it i would take her to court make sure you take pictures as to the damage so you will have them for the judge to look at then go to land lord tennent act and you see their that your rental right are being violated and seems like she doesn't want to know you can get all your money back if you take her to court
